NOW HIRING 2025 Sunnybrook Head Manager

The pool manager is the single point of contact for the membership for anything related to the pool and shall make themselves available to the membership in person or by phone whenever the situation requires such attention. The manager shall exercise good professional judgment in accordance with the bylaws and Club’s Policies and Rules when dealing with all members and employees. The position shall serve as a role model for all guards and assistant managers in all interactions with the membership and guests. All personnel or membership matters shall first be addressed with the pool manager before being escalated to the board.

Qualifications

  • At least 19 years of age and have an HS diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of management experience preferred
  • Ability to independently complete pool chemical and safety checks.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Able to work weekends/holidays/evening hours

Licenses & Certifications
The following must be kept current and in good standing. Copies of all current certifications must be on display in the guardhouse.
● Pool Director Training Certification or Trained Pool Operator
● Valid Driver’s license
● CPR/AED Training
● Lifeguard certified
● Swim Instructor certified (BSI minimum, WSI optional)

Responsibilities

Personnel:
● Represent the club in all matters relating to the state and county health departments regarding the pool.
● Interview, hire and train all guards, front gate and assistant managers.
● Create and maintain a work schedule for lifeguards and front gate staff to ensure proper facility operation and BOH compliance at all times
● Process employee timecards biweekly and coordinate paycheck distribution
● Prepare and implement a training program for all employees.
● Mentor the assistant managers.

Grounds & Facility:
● Coordinate with the Facilities committee to schedule the groundskeeper, mosquito, chlorine delivery and propane services
● Organize and schedule needed assistance for opening and closing the club
● Establish a safety and cleanliness routine conducting daily inspections of facilities including the club pools, grounds, building structures, bathrooms, trash/recycling receptacles, parking lot and staff areas
● Order and maintain a seasonal inventory of all required janitorial supplies
● Maintain and repair the buildings, grounds and equipment as needed to maintain a safe, family-friendly environment for the membership. Report to board when repairs require professional level of attention

Pools:
● Maintain all pool chemical balance within state and county guidelines at all times. (This position is fully accountable and responsible for ensuring proper pool chemistry. )
● Prepare and represent the club for all county BOH inspections and be present
● Maintain a logbook for all pool water tests per NJDOH requirements.
● Prepare a regular schedule for cleaning all pools.
● Inspect all pool ladders, coping, liner, stands and railings and repair when damaged or needed immediately.Report to board when repairs require professional level of attention

Club Operations and Special Events
● Create and maintain a system for Sunnybrook Lifeguard Group Swim Lessons
● Create and maintain a system to organize club events (member parties, club parties, holiday events, swim/dive team events)
● Maintain a positive relationship with the Swim & Dive Team coaches and help support team operations as needed

Membership and Board Relationship
● Maintain a positive relationship with the board and members of the swim club
● Enforce the club’s bylaws and adhere to township ordinances on the club to maintain good, positive neighbor and neighborhood relationships.
● Attend monthly board meetings when invited to report on the status of the club or on any issues pertinent to the board that requires action.

Hours
Attendance at monthly board meetings starting in February 2025
Coordination of required inspections & licenses for club opening preparation
Interview and hiring of staff beginning March 2025
Pool opening and maintenance starting May 2025
Salaried 40 hours per week Memorial Day through Labor Day 2025

Compensation
Range based on experience and qualifications starting at $11,000 salary for the summer, additional opportunities for bonuses throughout the season
Paid 1 week vacation
